Magnolia Foundation Board of Directors (“the board”) is ultimately in charge of Magnolia Science Academies’ operation and governance. The Magnolia Foundation Executive Office (MFEO) appointed by the board is responsible for the execution on behalf of the board.

Magnolia Science Academies are be governed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to public agencies and charter schools. Magnolia Foundation and Magnolia Science Academies comply with the Brown Act.

The Board establishes broad policies to implement the Magnolia Foundation’s mission at Magnolia Science Academy schools. The policies adopted by the board influence school operations such as educational program development, after school programs, financial planning, staffing, benefits, compensation, and conditions for student suspension or expulsion.  Members of the Charter School’s executive board, any administrators, managers or employees, and any other committees of the school shall comply with federal and state laws, and nonprofit integrity standards.

The Board forms and directs the MFEO, and evaluates the services provided for the Magnolia Science Academies. The Board also coordinates advocacy efforts for Magnolia Foundation constituency, which generates start-up resources for future projects.

The current Board of Directors consists of dedicated individuals with a passion for public service by education and proven experience gained at Magnolia Foundation’s existing schools.
