He has participated in numerous high-tech seismic retrofit and high rise building projects. He is the co-author of several publications in the structural engineering field.

Dr. Oguzmert's passion for education dates back to his college years when he worked as a counselor at low-income area high schools. During his graduate studies at Syracuse University, he established the Education Volunteers Club that served as a bridge between local colleges and K-12 public schools. He served as the president of the same organization for two years. He taught introduction level engineering courses at SU as a lecturer. At the same time, he volunteered at local charter schools in Upstate New York as after school programs coordinator.

Mr. Oguzmert has successfully implemented the experience he gained in the business world to his volunteer educational activities. The template business plan he prepared with his teammates named "Science Academy Schools" was awarded 3rd place among more than one hundred entries in the Entrepreneurship Competition organized by Whitman School of Business at SU. After becoming a board member at Dialog Foundation he led the organization's fundraising efforts which yielded more than $1.2 million in public and private grants.
